Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) Simulation Course
Fluid-structure interaction (FSI) is the coupling between the laws of different branches of physics, particularly those of fluid dynamics and structural mechanics. This coupling takes into account the pressure or thermal field from a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis and the direct consequences of this loading on the structural analysis.
There are countless components that can be studied from an FSI perspective. Industrial valves, pipes that transport high-temperature fluids, rotors in rotating machinery, wind turbines, blood valves, external cabinet housings, parabolic antennas, etc. Basically, most products involve multiple physical phenomena, and today this type of study is even more feasible and widely used.
